The revolutionary situation in Ukraine stemmed from the first days of the country's independence, the Russian President Vladimir Putin said, RIA Novosti reported.
"This is why this situation has arisen. In my opinion, this revolutionary situation was formed long ago in the early days of Ukraine's independence," the president told journalists.
Mass protests in Ukraine began on November 21, 2013, when the government announced the suspension of the preparation of the Association Agreement with the EU.
As a result, the country's President Viktor Yanukovych was ousted on Feb.22. The Verkhovna Rada (parliament) has approved the new composition of parliament and is preparing to hold pre-term elections.
