The Republic of Azerbaijan strongly condemns the terrorist attacks on December 16 at the public school in Peshawar, Pakistan which caused numerous deaths and injuries including many children, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry said Dec. 17.

The Republic of Azerbaijan strongly condemns the terrorist attacks on December 16 at the public school in Peshawar, Pakistan which caused numerous deaths and injuries including many children, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry said Dec. 17.

The Republic of Azerbaijan expresses its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families and the brotherly People of Pakistan and wishes the many injured a speedy recovery, a statement says.

Azerbaijan, as a country suffering from terrorism, condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and reiterates that no act of terrorism can be justified.

The Republic of Azerbaijan is determined to support the efforts of the Government of Pakistan to fight against terrorism in cooperation with the international community.

Around 148 people were killed as a result of the Tehreek-e-Taliban terrorist organization militants' attack on the military school.

Tehreek-e-Taliban is the Islamic militant organization, established in 2007. It is based in the so-called zone of tribes on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan and unites the majority of Pakistani terrorist groups.

It aims at resisting the official Pakistani government, applying Sharia law in Pakistan, expulsing the NATO troops from the territories of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
