Azerbaijan seriously prepares for the IV Islamic Solidarity Games and will use every opportunity to conduct them at a high level, Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Azad Rahimov said Apr.8 in Baku.
He made the remarks at the meeting with president of Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF), youth and sports minister of Saudi Arabia, president of Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of youth and sports were also discussed at the meeting.
The guest praised the state care for sport in Azerbaijan and said that sports infrastructure, created in the country, meets international standards.
The ceremony of official signing of the contract to hold the IV Islamiada (Islamic Solidarity Games) Baku-2017 in Azerbaijan took place in Baku Apr.7.
The contract was signed by Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Azad Rahimov, president of Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF), youth and sports minister of Saudi Arabia, president of Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and vice president of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan Chingiz Huseynzade.
