A trilateral meeting of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Turkmen foreign ministers has started in Antalya, Turkey, the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Mevlut Cavusoglu tweeted Aug.28.

The foreign ministers will discuss political and economical issues important for the region, as well as issues of implementation of decisions made at previous meetings.

The previous meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan Elmar Mammadyarov, Mevlut Cavusoglu and Rashid Meredov was held in Kuwait in May 2015 as part of the 42nd session of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The first meeting in this format was held in Baku in 2014. Baku Declaration was adopted following this meeting.

The cooperation of the countries covers a wide range of issues, including energy, tourism, humanitarian sphere and politics.

There are such formats of meetings as Azerbaijan-Turkey-Georgia, Azerbaijan-Turkey-Iran. The summits of foreign ministers and presidents of these countries were held.
