Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has congratulated Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Independence.
“On behalf of the people of Turkey and on my own behalf, I am honored to extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to you and through you to the whole friendly people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the restoration of state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” Erdogan said in his congratulatory letter.

President Erdogan said the wise leadership of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev played a great role in this success.
“I would like to emphasize that we believe that the cooperation and solidarity of our countries, having exceptional ties, will strengthen and develop in the coming period and we will continue to render all necessary support to fraternal Azerbaijan,” he added.
“On this remarkable occasion, I wish you robust health and happiness,” the Turkish president added. “Please extend my wishes of peace, prosperity and well-being to the friendly people of Azerbaijan.”
