Nazim Ibrahimov, the chairman of the State Committee on world with Azerbaijanis living abroad held a news conference on Monday on the totals of three-year activities of the establishment, Trend reports.
According to Ibrahimov, since the very establishment the State Committee carried out sound work to intensify the activities of Azerbaijanis living abroad, establishment of relationships with the Diaspora organizations. Representatives of the Committee participated in the events organized by Diaspora. В"The Committee is involved in informing all our compatriots with the Azerbaijani truth, support to foreign scientists involved in researching the multi-century aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan. The Within many years Armenia distorted the history of Karabakh and used every effort to spread the false about the so-called вЂ�Armenian genocide’. Therefore, the State Committee tries to strengthen the activities of the Azerbaijani Diaspora to inform the international community about the Armenian aggression,” Ibrahimov underlined.
Speaking on Azerbaijan living in Iran and their organizations, he noted that the State Committee was interested in any compatriot living in any point of the world. В"Azerbaijan is a friendly country to Iran and does not interfere into its internal affairs. Azerbaijan pursues its own foreign policy and no state body plans to interfere into Iran’s internal affairs,В" he noted.
In his report Ibrahimov touched upon the problem of Azerbaijanis living in Georgia. He stressed that the developments in Georgia were exaggerated. It would not be right to present events linked with the Azerbaijanis in Russia and Georgia as conflicts evolved on national basis.
Ibrahimov also noted that the State Committee did not distinguish the Azerbaijanis living abroad for their political viewpoints. В"There should not exist a notion of вЂ�authorities-opposition’ out of Azerbaijan’s borders. We all ought to unite around our motherland. Azerbaijan is open for anyone desiring to participate in political life of the country,” he underlined.
