The asphalt concrete must be replaced in connection with Formula 1 European Grand Prix to be held in Baku, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov told reporters July 11.

"At present, the maintenance work is underway in connection with the upcoming Formula 1,"
he said. "It is necessary to create the conditions for its holding in the city, to replace the asphalt concrete, to fix sewers."

Formula 1 European Grand Prix will be held in Baku on July 17, 2016, a statement posted on the Formula 1 official website said.

The minister added that the asphalt concrete replacement can take 1.5 - 2 months.

"We can start this work in March or April 2016," he said.

Rahimov also said that a two-storey building will be built for Formula 1 pit stops and paddocks on the Azadlig square soon.
