РђZERBAJAN AND UNESCO TO SIGN PROTOCOL ON INTENTIONS FOR COOPERATION DEVELOPMENT

Аzerbaijan and UNESCO will sign a protocol on intentions for development of cooperation in the educational field. The document will be signed during the forthcoming visit on 23-24 August of the UNESCO Secretary General Koichiro Matsuura to Azerbaijan, head of the foreign relations and coordination department of the Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Education Mahir Aliyev told Trend.

According to Aliyev, the document envisions intentions of the sides to expand cooperation in the field of reforming and improving the educational system in Azerbaijan.

The Organization’s aid will mainly lie in rendering technical assistance: staging trainings and conferences for the Azerbaijani specialists, giving recommendations and proposals on improvement of the educational system and etc. These issues will be in the focus during the negotiations of the UNESCO Secretary General in Azerbaijan.

During the visit Matsuura will be accompanied by the director general of the UNESCO department on strategy and planning Mirasker Huseyn, specialist of the Moscow Bureau on education Dendev Badarg.

In the framework of the visit, to be carried out on the initiative of the UNESCO Good Will Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva the conference “Reforms of education in Azerbaijan for the sustainable future” will be held. Ambassadors and representatives of international organizations, accredited in Azerbaijan will be also invited to the conference.
