Trend recognized one of unbiased coverers of elections campaign in Azerbaijan

Trend analytical information agency was announced one of two information agencies in Azerbaijan for unbiased covering of the election campaign in the country, according a statement by Veli Alibeyov, the First Vice President of the Association of Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan (ACSDA), made to a news conference held in Baku on Monday on the results of a monitoring of activities of media in country from 9 to 31 October 2005.

“Today the information bulletins of Trend and APA agencies qualitatively differ from rest 3 agencies (MPA, AzerTAj, Turan) for operative delivery of news,” he underlined. He noted that that Trend attaches great importance to position of the international organizations while covering the elections procedures. Touching upon the payable agitation of the candidates to MP, he stressed that only only APA used this method.

Alibayov noted that under the monitoring they investigated the activities of 6 television channels, 17 newspapers and 5 news agencies to detect the unbiased covering of the pre-elections in the country.

Hey stressed the problems that Turan has in delivery of balanced spread of news, facts and events, though this media unit differs for operative and multidimensional character of the news.

The publications differed for large covering of the elections campaign in the country were the newspapers Baki Khabar and Yeni Musavat, while for the field for covering вЂ" Azadlyg daily. The newspapers Gun-Sahar, Kaspiy, Express, 525, Zerkalo, Echo were the publication far from black PR.

The more balanced coverage of the events was observed in the programs of ANS television channel and Public.
