Law on standardization takes force in Turkmenistan

The law on standardization, which provides the legal and organizational basis of standardization, has entered into force in Turkmenistan, an official Turkmen source said on Monday.

The law on standardization, which provides the legal and organizational basis of standardization, has entered into force in Turkmenistan, an official Turkmen source said on Monday.

The articles of the law state that if an international agreement of Turkmenistan establishes rules other than those provided by the law, the rules of the international agreement will be implemented.

This law regulates the relations linked with the field of standardization.

The document does not apply to standards in the areas of education, communication, defense and security, public health, statistics and accounting, auditing, banking, securities issues, the building code, the sphere of action of which is established by the legislation of Turkmenistan.

The goals of standardization are the protection of the interests of individuals and legal entities from goods (works, services) that does not meet regulations, provision of technical, engineering and information compatibility and interchangeability of products (works, services), product safety, compliance with the requirements set by regulations, ensuring the rational use of material resources, improvement of the quality and competitiveness of products (works, services) including science, engineering and technology.

The standardization financing sources are legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.

Control and supervision in standardization are carried out by the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the authorized body, other bodies of state power and control within their jurisdiction.
