Tax revenues from Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector increase by almost seven-fold for 10 years

The volume of tax revenues to the Azerbaijani state budget increased by 7.3 times to 6 billion manat in 2003-2012.

The volume of tax revenues to the Azerbaijani state budget increased by 7.3 times to 6 billion manat in 2003-2012, the Taxes Ministry told Trend on Tuesday. The forecast on tax deductions for 2013 for the Ministry has been labled 6.4 billion manat.

The tax revenues from the non-oil sector increased by 6.9 times - up to 3.3 billion manat, charges through the regional tax offices - by 11.8 times - up to 445.5 million manat for 10 years.

"The share of income from the private sector increased from 42 percent in 2003 to 72 percent in 2012," the ministry said.

According to the Ministry, around 4.1 billion manat of tax payments were transferred to the state budget from January-July 2013. Tax deductions from the non-oil sector to Azerbaijan's state budget amounted for 2.14 billion manat or 52.2 percent of a total amount of revenues.

The total number of taxpayers as of August 1, 2013 was 520,986 people.
The official exchange rate is 0.7845 AZN/USD on Sept. 18.
