By Huseyn Veliyev - Trend:

Azerbaijan plans to create the production of uninterruptible power supplies for industry, PEYK plant manager of the ministry of defense industry of Azerbaijan Siyavush Aliyev told Trend Oct.28.

Aliyev said that the matter rests in the construction of control systems for the smooth and stable operation of the electrical equipment on industrial plants and their protection from power surges.

"Negotiations on the deployment of the production of these devices in Azerbaijan are conducted with a number of Chinese companies," said Aliyev. "It is expected that the final decision on this issue will be made in early November in Baku within the framework of the meeting with representatives of a number of Chinese companies. Coordinator of the group is the Chinese company BBK Electronics Corp. LTD.

The main goal is to establish the production of equipment for the power protection of industrial automation with their further export to European markets, according to the director of the PEYK plant.

PEYK plant was built in Azerbaijan in 1993, with the participation of the French consortium M.U.P. Industrie G.I.E. In 1993-2005, the plant operated as part of the state committee for special engineering & conversion of Azerbaijan.

Since September 2006, the plant became part of the ministry of defense industry of Azerbaijan.
