Azerbaijani IT-company lays claim to automation of Kazakh meteorological service

The results of the tender for the creation of an electronic archive Kazhydromet and the formation of electronic fund of hydro-meteorological data will be made public in the near future, the Sinam company told Trend.

The company participates in the tender, which has been announced within the project "Modernization of hydro-meteorological services in Central Asia" financed by the World Bank (WB).

The project is aimed at improving the accuracy and timeliness of rendering of hydro-meteorological services in Central Asia. One component of the project is improvement of coordination in the region and the exchange of information, and in particular, the provision of opportunity for each of the National Bureau of hydro-meteorological services to provide common hydro-meteorological data and information for sharing, archiving and use, as well as to have a comparable level of skills to deliver information and hydro-meteorological services in the region.

The project provides for the delivery, installation of equipment and software, work on the digitization, indexing and storage of archival paper documents in the database.

A similar project was implemented by Sinam company in Kyrgyzstan. The company Sinam carried out work to establish the infrastructure for storage of documents of Kyrgyzhydromet, installed hardware and software to transfer the archive to the electronic carriers, created a local computer network and prepared automated workstations for employees within the framework of the project, launched in March 2014.
