Final games of the virtual football championship, organized by Bakcell - the First Mobile Operator and Leading provider of Mobile Internet in Azerbaijan, within the frames of its "Football with Bakcell" project, have been held to determine the following winners:
1st place - Haji Mirzamammadov
2nd place - Talib Rzayev
The championship between students of 9th, 10th and 11th grades of secondary schools from eight cities of Azerbaijan, has started in February 2015, and became one of the largest events held with participation of youth from all over the country. The main goal of this project, which covers around 7000 students, is to promote healthy sports competition and more efficient recreational activities amongst youth.
Starting from February 2015, more than 130 games have been held to determine the winners in each of the following cities: Baku, Ganja, Sumgait, Lankaran, Mingachevir, Qabala, Sheki and Zaqatala. A total of 1024 games have been held on weekends among children who've successfully passed the selection rounds.
Final games and other entertaining activities were organized on 26.04.2015 at mobile gaming zones installed in H. Javid, Narimanov, Samad Vurgun and Sahil parks of Baku. A special attention of the city residents was drawn by the fact that the games were held at vehicles, equipped with special equipment and moving on predefined routes as well as the fact that the championship was organized in the form of a show.
The winner of the championship will travel to the United States of America to watch a game of Manchester United. During this trip, the winner will get a chance to play virtual football personally with the players of Manchester United. Semi-finalists were awarded with Alov smartphones and other valuable gifts.
