Azerbaijan reduces export of goods to Georgia

Georgia imported goods worth $277.9 million from Azerbaijan in the first half of 2015, which is 5.7 percent less than in the same period of last year, the Georgian National Statistics Service's report on foreign trade as of January-June 2015 says.

For comparison: Georgia imported Azerbaijani goods worth $294.57 million in the first half of 2014.

Azerbaijan ranks third in the list of the countries from which Georgia imports goods. The share of Azerbaijan's exports in the total volume of goods delivered to Georgia is 7.6 percent.

Georgia imports most of goods from Turkey. During the reporting period, the volume of Georgia's imports from Turkey amounted to $646.35 million or 17.6 percent of the total import.

China ranked second with a total volume of $315.07 million and a 8.6 percent share in Georgia's imports.

Georgia mainly imports gas, oil products, electric power, building materials and other products from Azerbaijan.
