Furkat Sidikov, Uzbekistan's new ambassador to Pakistan has delivered his credentials to Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain, the Uzbek foreign ministry said.
President Hussain stressed the prospects of intensifying the Uzbekistan-Pakistan multifaceted cooperation, especially in expanding the mutually beneficial trade-economic and transport-communication relations.
President Hussain also expressed interest in strengthening bilateral inter-parliamentary and social-cultural relations, as well as expanding the cooperation in science and education.
Earlier, Sidikov served as first secretary of the Uzbek embassy in the US.
In his new position, Sidikov replaces Parviz Aliyev, who served from September 2012 until June 2015.
