Currently, the share of the private sector in Turkmenistan’s agriculture exceeds 92 percent, the Turkmen government said in a message.

Thus, agricultural and food products worth 505.3 million Turkmen manats ($1=3.5 manats on Aug. 30) were produced in 1H2016 by the country’s Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the volume of these products increased by 34.3 and 49.1 percent, respectively.

In total, the volume of gross agricultural production increased by 1.6 times in 2015 compared to 2011.

During the reporting period, grain production increased by 5.8 percent, flour - by 1.7 percent, meat - by 4.1 percent, milk - by 1.8 percent, eggs - by 5.5 percent, vegetables - 33.4 percent, and melons – over 2 times.

“Turkmen entrepreneurs continue to confidently develop new segments of the market and advanced technologies that allow increasing the competitiveness of the agricultural-industrial complex, meeting consumer demand with a variety of clean food and “vitamin products,” said the message.
