The roundtable on the perspectives of the development of the leasing in Azerbaijan will be staged at the Hyatt Regency hotel on 8 August, the secretariat of the project told Trend. The roundtable will mull the works on the development of the leasing in the country, the problem in the sphere, the perspectives and other issues. The attending will be approximately 80 people representing relevant state bodies and leasing companies.
$18 million was put in the leasing operations in the country till early July. The number of the financed leasing projects comprised 265. 34,5% of operations fell to construction sector, 22,5% - transport, 12,3% - food industry, 10% - financial and insurance sector, 7,5% - production, 4,1% - tourism. The active leasing portfolio of the leasing companies made up $17.4 million.
The International Finance Corporation has been implementing project on the development of the leasing in Azerbaijan, which will end in April 2006, with financial aid of the Swiss State Secretariat on Economic Issues since May 2003.
