“The monitoring of the audiovisual product market may be the most revealing one. As the monitoring revealed objects, where 90% of the products were false,” Rahim Husseynov, the Director of the Antimonopoly Policy Department under the Ministry of Economic Development, told Trend.

“We did not reveal licensed products in the objects selling audiovisual products during the check-up, which will continue several more days.

We checked up the objects located in the fair near Ganjlik underground station on Thursday. Now the check-up carried out in the objects in the Bina settlement,” Husseynov stressed.

Hussyenov also noted that not only shops, but also recording labels were subjected to the check-up.

The Ministry imposes both administrative and financial sanctions in regard to the objects. Confiscated infringing goods passed to the Copyright Agency for examination. “We will complete the field check-up in several days and start analysis of results,” Husseynov said.
