Kazakhstan’s gas production ups

Kazakhstan's total production of gas amounted to 26.778 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January-August, 2012, compared to 26.33 bcm during the same period of 2011, the Kazakh Statistics Agency dispatching management told Trend.

Gas production in Kazakhstan totaled 2.985 bcm in August, 2012 compared to 3.365 bcm during the same month of last year. In August, 2012 gas production in the country decreased by 11.3 percent as compared to August, 2011 and decreased by 13.7 percent compared to the previous month.

The fulfillment of the indicative plan on the gas extraction amounted to 101.1 percent in August, 2012.

Kazakhstan's domestic demand for gas amounted to 469.3 million cubic metres in August, 2012, which is 1.8 percent less than demand in the previous month and 5.7 percent more than in August, 2011.
