OPEC: Gas output up in Azerbaijan

Gas output in Azerbaijan stood at 19.365 billion cubic meters in 2015, which is 3.9 percent more than in 2014, OPEC’s Annual Statistical Bulletin said.

According to OPEC, Azerbaijan’s proven gas reserves amounted to 1.291 trillion cubic meters as of early 2016.

The estimates for gas reserves remained unchanged compared to the previous report.
Azerbaijan’s gas exports in 2015 increased by 0.9 percent to 8.14 billion cubic meters, according to OPEC.

Most of the gas produced in Azerbaijan accounts for Shah Deniz field, the reserves of which are estimated at 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas.

A final investment decision was made on the Shah Deniz 2 field in Baku in 2013, envisaging producing additional 16 billion cubic meters of gas per year at the field.
