The shale output in the US oil production regions is expected to increase by 41,000 barrels per day in February and reach 4.748 million barrels per day (mbd) as compared to 4.707 mbd in January, the country’s Energy Information Administration said in the Drilling Productivity Report.

The highest rise in shale output is expected in the country’s Permian region, as the production there will increase from 2.127 mbd to 2.180 mbd (up by 53,000 bpd), according to the report.

EIA forecasts 13,000 bpd increase in shale production of the US Niobrara region, while a 1,000 bpd increase is expected in Marcellus.

At the same time, the shale output is expected to drop by 20,000 bpd in Bakken, while 3,000 bpd decrease will be recorded in Utica and Eagle Ford regions each, said the report.

EIA forecasts the gas production to increase in the US from 47.639 billion cubic feet per day to 47.969 billion cubic feet per day.
