Baku oil refinery exported 27% of its products in 2016

The Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR exported 27.2 percent of its products in 2016, a source in SOCAR told Trend May 23.

The source noted that in 2016, the refinery processed 6.07 tons of crude oil and 24,000 tons of semi-finished products.

“As many as 1.14 million tons of motor gasoline, 2.51 million tons of aviation and diesel fuel, 185,600 tons of liquid gas, 206,600 tons of petroleum coke, 179,100 tons of oil bitumen, 68,400 tons of motor fuel of DT and A brands, 9,800 tons of lubricating oils were produced,” the source noted.

“As many as 173,600 tons of hydrotreated gasoline, 59,300 tons of purified dry gas, 398,600 tons of furnace fuel oil for power plants were produced for the chemical industry,” the source added.

In total, the commodity output was worth 1.7 billion manats, according to the source.

“The products were mainly exported to Georgia, Turkey, post-Soviet and European countries, and the remaining part was used to meet the domestic demand,” the source said.

Currently, the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery is being modernized. The refinery’s modernization will be completed until 2020. The cost of the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery’s modernization will near $1.5-1.7 billion.
