Azerbaijan to shift to online tax payment

Azerbaijan will begin implementation of online tax payment by the end of 2011, the head of the Tax Ministry's Central Management for organization of state registration of commercial entities and economic analyze Natig Shirinov told reporters in Shamakhi on Friday.

"This project is being prepared jointly with the Ministry of Finance and Central Bank of the country. Today discussions are conducted on various technical conditions of the project and amount of tariffs to be applied to taxpayers involved in online payments," said Shirinov.

He said coordinating the technical parameters of payment of all taxes through online banking services will be completed by the end of 2011, and its implementation will start.

A joint working group of employees of the Ministry of Taxes and the Central Bank has been established to promote cashless payments. It is supposed that the measures to promote cashless payments will increase transparency and develop banking sector.
