On Saturday, Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kairat Ishchanov met with a delegation of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, headed by Alexander Torshin, the Kazakh Senate told Trend.
Welcoming the representatives of the mission of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, Ishchanov stressed that the arrival of the Kazakh delegation, represented by the CIS seven countries, testifies to the special attention to the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan.
"The authorities of our country did everything possible for the elections to be transparent and fair," Ishchanov said.
Stressing that these elections are a significant event for our country, deputy speaker focused on the president's decision to hold the elections in Zhanaozen in due time.
"The Kazakh parliament fully supports the initiatives to increase the international prestige of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and to expand the relations with other inter-parliamentary organizations," Deputy Speaker said.
"We know that Kazakhstan is fully ready for the elections," Alexander Torshin said. "We are optimistic and we are confident that tomorrow will be calm."
The deputies of the Senate S. Plotnikov, A. Savchenko, B. Zhylkyshiev, H. Valiev, I. Amirov also attended the meeting.
