Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the relations with Turkey, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the meeting with President of the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges Rifat Hisarchiklyoglu, the presidential press-service reported.
"We attach great importance to the relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey, which are at high level," the president said.
Within the meeting the parties discussed intensification and development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.
Hisarchiklyoglu thanked Nazarbayev for the meeting and said that his visit to Kazakhstan was aimed at further strengthening the cooperation between the business circles of the two countries.
According to Hisarchiklyoglu, the task set by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to increase bilateral trade to $10 billion will be fulfilled in near future.
"A group of Turkish businessmen plans to visit Kazakhstan to implement some investment projects," Hisarchiklyoglu said.
Moreover, the business circles of the two countries plan to work together on development of industrial and innovation zones, and Turkish enterprises plan to work with Kazakh National Economic Chamber Atameken on transport and logistics projects.
