Representatives of business circles of Japan expressed interest in building a number of chemical enterprises in Turkmenistan, said the Turkmen government's message.
The agreement was reached during a recent working visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan.

The implementation of joint projects for integrated development of hydro resources in the Gulf of Garabogazgol was reportedly discussed during the visit.

Meanwhile, the relevant draft framework agreement on the construction of a fertilizer-producing complex in the Mary city has already been prepared.

Turkmenistan also offers Japanese partners to take part in projects for the production of phosphate fertilizers for Turkmenabat enterprises, factories for the production of caustic soda, chlorine, iodine and bromine in the Balkan velayat (region).

President Berdimuhamedov said that it is important to fully use the existing extensive scientific production and technological potential of the leading industrial companies in the world, including those of Japan.

Following Berdimuhamedov's visit to Japan in 2013, a number of contracts worth several billion dollars were signed for constructing a number of large industrial enterprises in the oil and gas and chemical industry.
