Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has discussed topical issues of cooperation at the meeting with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ulugbek Rozukulov, the Turkmen state information agency “Turkmen Dovlat Khabarlari” reported.

"Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the development of a full-scale dialogue with Turkmenistan, which, based on the mutual goodwill of the parties, is getting filled with new specific content year by year,” a high-ranking representative from Tashkent said in a message.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has, in turn, noted that the two countries are linked by the close and good-neighborly relations.

Strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation with the closest neighbors, including Uzbekistan, is a strategic priority of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, said the president of Turkmenistan.

Availability of favorable opportunities for building productive relationships in the spheres of trade and economy, agriculture, as well as transport and communication sector, was noted during the meeting.

The parties expressed confidence in the stability of the good-neighborly relations and successful continuation of constructive cooperation, serving the interests of both countries and the countries’ citizens.
