The presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan Vladimir Putin and Islam Karimov began their meeting in Tashkent.
The meeting is being held in the narrow format in President Karimov's residence as part of President Putin's one-day visit to Uzbekistan.
The countries' cooperation in oil, gas sector and agriculture will be the main topic of discussion.
The regional security is expected to be discussed.
