The President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov Jan.20 signed a decree on appointing 16 members of the upper house of parliament, the Senate of the Olij Majlis.
It was previously reported that according to the legislation of Uzbekistan, 16 members of the Senate are appointed of the 100 senators by the decree of the president.
In accordance with the presidential decree, the number of members of the Senate of 2015-2019 convocation included 10 people who have already been members of the upper house of the parliament of the previous convocation.
