Uzbekistan is carrying out large-scale reforms in state building, economy, social support and other areas, and France is ready to support them, French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development Jean-Marc Ayrault said in an interview with the Jahon news agency of Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry.
Ayrault is currently on a visit in Uzbekistan.
“Fruitful cooperation has already been established between our countries and we wish to strengthen it,” he said.
“We see what big efforts are made in Uzbekistan to ensure peace and stability in the region. We understand the importance and necessity of strengthening cooperation in this area,” Ayrault said.
He also noted that France is committed to a policy of respect for Uzbekistan’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
