Mahan Airlines will launch a flight to Sochi, Russia on April 18, stated Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei.
Mahan Airlines is also looking forward to launching flights from Tehran to Moscow and back, the ambassador posted on his Facebook page on March 14.
Right now there is one Iran Air and four Aeroflot flights per week between Tehran and Moscow.
Sanaei further stated that the Iranian Asman Airlines will also launch flights between Rasht, Mazandaran Province, and Astrakhan.
Sochi is a tourist city in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the Black Sea coast near the border between Georgia/Abkhazia and Russia
Sochi hosted the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in 2014, as well as the Russian Formula 1 Grand Prix from 2014 until at least 2020. It will also be one of the host cities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup
