Iran to provide exporters with loans

Iranian government has provided the Export Development Bank of Iran with three billion rials (about $96.9 million according to official rate on July 27) aimed at contributing to the promotion of exports.

Mohammadreza Modoudi, a deputy head of Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran, said that exporters can apply for loans through the Export Development Bank of Iran, IRNA news agency reported.

According to the report the exporters will pay 14 percent of interest rate for the loans.

According to the official about 17,500 companies were involved in exporting goods from Iran over the last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20).

While China is the leading importer of Iranian goods, Afghanistan ranks fifth in importing goods from Iran, the official said.

He further called for increasing the volume of goods exported to Afghanistan.
