Iran builds 450MW power plant

Iran has built a hydroelectric power plant in the western part of the country through the financial cooperation with a Chinese company.

The dam and power plant are called Rudbar Luristan and situated in Luristan Province, Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian said, Mehr news agency reported September 17.

The Chinese company named CGTC provided 85 percent of the fund, Chitchian said.

The power plant comprises of two units each 225 megawatts in power.

The dam is the third to have been watered in Iran during the current administration.

Iran’s next hydroelectric power plant is probably going to be built by Bakhtiari Dam on the borderline dividing Luristan and Khuzestan provinces. It is planned to generate a 750-megawatt power.
