60 hours cloud seeding conducted in 3 months in Iran

Over the past three months when the water year started, 60 hours of could seeding has been carried out in Iran, according to Rahim Meydani, deputy minister of energy for water and wastewater management.

The operations consisted of 20 flights in eight provinces, he told IRNA news agency January 21.

A budget of 90 billion rials ($2.8 million, at each USD worth 32,427 rials) has been passed to go into the cloud seeding operations in the current water year, the official said.

Also, Meydani said while acquiring water through sweetening processes costs 30,000 to 60,000 rials per cubic meter, each cubic meter of water gained via cloud seeding costs only 150 to 450 rials.
