US, not Iran, is breaching the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) by producing atomic bombs, said Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the head of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.

Boroujerdi said that the U.S. is acting against the article 6 of the NPT by producing atomic bombs, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on April 3.

The U.S thinks that everybody who is active in the field of nuclear energy is moving toward producing atomic bombs, he added.

Meanwhile, Iran continues negotiations regarding its nuclear program. An agreement was reached at extended talks on Iran's contested nuclear program in the Swiss city of Lausanne on April 2.

According to a joint announcement, Iran will have only one uranium enrichment plant, Natanz. The country will also change its Fordo uranium enrichment plant to a nuclear research site.

Moreover, Iran will also change the design of Arak heavy water plant to make less plutonium. The International Atomic Energy Agency also would have more access to Iran's nuclear facilities.

On the other hand, EU and the U.S. will halt their sanctions on Iran after reaching a comprehensive nuclear deal (expected to be achieved by June 30).

Iran and P5+1 agreed that the comprehensive nuclear deal become operational for 10 years.

U.S. President Barack Obama previously said a framework agreement reached at talks on Iran's nuclear program is "a good deal" that would, if fully implemented, prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

"Today, the United States, together with our allies and partners, has reached an historic understanding with Iran, which if fully implemented, will prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon," Obama said in statement at the White House.

Iran and the P5+1(the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) is negotiating to reach a comprehensive nuclear deal by June 30. The US and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a nuclear weapon, something that Iran denies.
