The Iranian nuclear program will not slow down by the smallest extent in the wake of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi said.

"The restrictions imposed by the JCPOA are not things to slow down the Islamic Republic of Iran in the nuclear field," he said, the parliament's official ICANA news agency reported September 12.

"The restrictions are so that we would have not managed to reach their limits by the time span envisioned in the JCPOA. For example, regarding the making of the plutonium metal, we did not have any plan to enter that field for ten or fifteen years. On the other hand, we do not have any plutonium let alone planning to produce its metal."

He said gaining the right to enrich uranium is one of the greatest achievements of the Iran nuclear talks while few developing countries have managed to gain that right.

He further said 63 percent of a countrywide exploration project for finding uranium mines has been accomplished and the project will be accomplished in four years.

The JCPOA or nuclear conclusion was reached between Tehran and the group P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) on July 14. On one side the deal restrictions Iran's nuclear program and on the other it lifts economic sanctions on Iran.
