Iran, Russia sign consular cooperation pact

The cooperation pact was signed between Iranian and Russia consular director generals Ali Chegani and Yevgeni Ivanov during a ceremony in the Russian capital today, Irna reported.

The cooperation pact covered areas such as issuing visas and establishing consular services for the two countries' nationals to exchange visits.

The Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanayee was also present in the meeting.

As regard the issuance of visas, the businessmen, industrialists, tourists, investors, truck-owners, university professors and students, artists and cultural groups have been prioritized.

It is noteworthy that as soon as the cooperation takes effect, the negotiations, the volume of trade exchanges in economic, trade and tourism sectors as well as joint ventures will considerably increase.

The abovementioned cooperation pact is considered as a base for the expansion of mutual cooperation in different areas.

Chagani also paid a visit to Tatarstan where he met with Tatar Prime Minister Eldar Khaliqov about ways to broaden relations.
