Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that Iran has a prominent role in fight against terrorism and extremism in the region, IRNA reported.
According to Foreign Ministry Media Diplomacy Bureau, Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Switzerland Deputy Foreign Minister Yves Rossier.
Referring to high interest of European governments to develop cooperation with Iran, especially in the field of economy, Zarif expressed hope that they would translate their decision to practice.
He explained Iran's role in confrontation with extremism and terrorism in the region and expressed Iran's readiness for interaction and cooperation with governments of the region, especially the neighboring states.
Yves Rossier welcomed conclusion of nuclear deal in Vienna on July 14 and called for enhanced cooperation in the field of bilateral, regional and international affairs.
