In a joint statement, the presidents of Iran and Kyrgyzstan stressed political solutions to regional conflicts.

The statement was published following Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev's trip to Tehran made on an invitation from his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, the Iranian presidential website reported September 7.

The two sides also referred to 22 years of relations between Iran and Kyrgyzstan, marking them as positive and constructive.

The statement also stressed boosting bilateral ties between the two countries and underlined the implementation of a five-year plan previously made with that goal.

It emphasizes growing ties in economic and legal affairs in particular.

Atembayev congratulated Iran on the conclusion of the nuclear talks while Rouhani congratulated Kyrgyzstan on the country's membership of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The sides also emphasized the accomplishment of the Iran-Afghanistan-Tajikistan-Kazakhstan-China railroad.

They also underlined cooperation between provinces from the two countries.

Improving cooperation within the framework of Economic Cooperation Organization, Islamic Cooperation Organization, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as joint actions against extremism, terrorism, drugs, arms and human trafficking, were also stressed.

Atembayev also expressed support for Rouhani's proposed World against Violence and Extremism (WAVE), which was adopted by the UN through Resolution A/RES 68/127.
