Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif will discuss the situation in Syria during their talks in Moscow, RIA Novosti reported citing Lavrov.
The parties together with Syria’s Foreign Minister Walid Muallem will also focus on humanitarian issues and starting a negotiation process on Syrian conflict’s settlement during a trilateral meeting, Lavrov added.
“Today, we will pay special attention to the situation in and around Syria. Recent developments once again prove that it is necessary to fight terrorism without any compromise, consistently, not yielding to increasing provocations,” the Russian FM said.
He added that the ministers will have the opportunity to “discuss all aspects of the situation in Syria in details, including counter-terrorism tasks, solving humanitarian issues and launching a negotiation process during today's meeting with our friend, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria Walid Muallem.”
