An Iranian official has announced that the provincial officials are seriously investigating the issue of acid attacks against women in the Islamic Republic's central city of Isfahan.

Rasoul Yahai, deputy governor general of Isfahan province for Political and Security Affairs said that the provincial officials do not waste any effort to arrest the perpetrators of this crime, Iran's ISNA news agency reported Oct. 18.

However, he went on to add that the taken intelligence measures to arrest the persons who involved in the acid attacks can not be shared with media.

Iranian media outlets reported that during recent weeks at least 4 women have become victims of acid attack by unknown motorcyclists.

The latest incident happened on the night of Oct. 15 when an approximately 27-year old woman was assaulted by bikers who threw acid at her while she was in her car.

In recent weeks, some outlets published in social networks have warned about throwing acid on women who violate Islamic dress code in Isfahan.
