Muhammadiyah Shiite mosque, located in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul has been attacked, Turkish Sabah newspaper reported on July 8.

A Molotov cocktail was thrown into the mosque on July 8 early in the morning, which caused a fire, according to the newspaper.

An unknown person threatened the imam of the mosque over religious differences a week ago, Sabah newspaper reported citing the Istanbul police.

A criminal case has been initiated on the fact.
