The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a decision to release Tymoshenko, RIA Novosti reported.
The resolution "On carrying out Ukraine's international obligations relating to ... Yulia Tymoshenko" was supported by 322 of 331 MPs present in the boardroom. The MPs met the announcement of the voting results with applause and chanting the slogan "freedom for Yulia".
On Feb.21, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made amendments to the law of the country, the entry into force of which would lead to the release of Tymoshenko, but the relevant law was not signed by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. The format of the resolution allows to manage without the president's signature, according to the current leadership of the Verkhovna Rada.
