Denmark's capital Copenhagen held an event on the occasion of Republic Day devoted to the ninety-second anniversary of the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic at Town Hall Square. The event was held with the organizational support of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Great Britain, which is also accredited to Denmark, the European-Azerbaijani Society and the Azerbaijani Community in Denmark.

The Azerbaijani Democratic Republic was the first democratic republic in the entire East. The ADR was a parliamentary state with state attributes such as a flag, an anthem and arms. The tricolor flag symbolized Turkism, Islamism and Europe. The ADR existed only 23 months. In April 28, 1920, the Eleveth Bolshevik Army occupied Azerbaijan and the republic collapsed.

Republic Day, May 28, has been celebrated as a state holiday since 1990.

The event was attended by diplomatic and international organization representatives.

During the event, a photo exhibition was also held dedicated to Azerbaijani culture, national cuisine, and musical instruments.

Guests were also informed about Azerbaijani ancient and modern history, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and the consequences of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan.

At the end of the event, participants enjoyed a concert by the Azerbaijani State Dance Ensemble.
