The first round of negotiations on the agenda of the association agreement between Georgia and the EU has started.
"The agenda is a document that will have three-year duration and which contributes to implementation of the agreement. As you know, the agreement will be signed no later than September. I hope that these negotiations on the agenda will be completed by late March," the representative of European External Action Service, Dirk Schuebel said.
In turn, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili said that this day has a great importance in the relations between Georgia and the EU.
The goal of negotiations is to promote preparation for implementation of the agreement and its effective implementation.
The first round of negotiations is being held at the Georgian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The Georgian group is led by Tamar Beruchashvili and the EU group is led by Dirk Schuebel.
