Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. К.Zarbaliyeva / The appeal of the students of the Independent Azerbaijan University against the Azerbaijani Education Ministry was declined. Intigam Aliyev, the representative of the students at the court, has stated to Trend Agency that the Baku Appeal Court under the chairmanship of the judge, Mirza Tagizadeh, adopted the resolution on producing lawsuit against the Independent University.
Aliyev considers illegal the resolution of the Court as the University has not functioning and it cannot implement the resolution adopted by the Court.
According to the representative of students, this resolution of the court will be submitted to the Supreme Court.
About 250 students of the University appealed against the Independent Azerbaijan University to restore the rights of students for education.
The students of the University began protest action regarding their transferring to other Private Universities in spring 2006 after cancellation the license of the University by the Education Ministry of Azerbaijan. The students of the 1,3 and 4th courses managed transference to other Universities. The problem of the 2nd courses remained unresolved.
