On May 6, the Minister of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan Erbolat Dosaev paid a working visit to Beijing and met with the Minister of Commerce of the People's Repiblic of China Gao Hu Cheng, Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan reported.

During the meeting the ministers discussed prospects of the further development of the bilateral trade and economic and investment cooperation. They also exchanged views on the implementation of joint projects in various fields of cooperation.

The economy ministers paid much attention to the discussion of the trends of the growing trade and economic cooperation.

Gao Hu Cheng pointed out that the current trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and China are developing successfully in all areas. Kazakhstan was the first trade partner of China in Central Asia, and China was the first trade partner of Kazakhstan.

The ministers also discussed the preparations for the signing of the Programme of medium- and long-term development of Kazakh-Chinese trade and economic cooperation until 2020, and agreed to activate the work on the agreed text of the Agreement between the Governments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments in the new edition.

It should be noted that these documents will be submitted for signing during the upcoming state visit of the President of China Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan.

Following the meeting it was agreed to continue regular contacts between the ministries.
