"Kazakhstan and Iran intend to intensify the relations at all levels this year," he said. "So, the agenda includes the mutual visits of high-ranking officials, as well as at the highest level, that is, the presidents of the two countries. As it is known, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev was in Tehran at a ceremony of president Rouhani's inauguration. The presidents' future visit is under consideration."

The thirteenth session of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation must be held in Tehran in the first half of 2014, the diplomat said. "Moreover, a meeting of the working groups of the chambers of commerce of both countries must be also held."

Seyfi recalled that the third meeting of the Kazakh- Iranian group on economic cooperation was held in Astana on Jan. 9. A document, envisaging the intensification of the relations in the field of mining, agriculture and trade was signed following the meeting.

"We hope that the relations are being intensified among the private sector representatives," he said.

As of 2013, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $700 million," he said.
