Bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was discussed during the meeting of Kyrgyz foreign minister Erlan Abdyldaev with its Uzbek colleague Abdulaziz Kamilov in Bishkek, Kabar news agency reported on June 16.

The meeting has been held within the the 5th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the 'Central Asia plus Japan Dialogue' in Bishkek.

During the meeting the foreign ministers of the two countries discussed the current state and the perspectives for Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation, according to the Kyrgyz ministry of foreign affairs' statement.

The sides have also exchanged the views on expanding the cooperation on bilateral and multilateral basis.

The 'Central Asia plus Japan Dialogue' was initiated by Japan in 2004 to enhance the cooperation with the Central Asian region.

The 4th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the 'Central Asia plus Japan Dialogue' was held in September 2012 in Tokyo.
